Chanel Pre-Fall 2011

In homage to the Empress Theodora from the lost culture of Byzantine, Lagerfeld's pre-fall 2011 collection is an edgy take on Chanel's signature sophisticated style.
The Byzantine Empire, also known as the Eastern Roman Empire, existed approximately between the years of 306AD to 1453AD and is well known for its colourful mosaic art, clearly a major influence in the collection.
Lagerfeld claimed to be inspired by the Empress Theodora as she was a circus artist that went on to be an Empress in the same way the Coco Chanel herself was a performer who became a "fashion Empress."

Baby its cold outside...

With the upcoming festive season ahead of us faux fur coats are a cute and stylish way to keep warm this winter, here's my pick of the best on the high street...

Topshop - £85.00
Leopard print is really on trend this season and has been spotted on celebrities such as Alexa Chung, Daisy Lowe and Fearne Cotton. This coat with cute pom poms is the perfect way to bring an element of fun to your outerwear.

Zara - £59.99
This knitted coat with faux fur trim could easily pass as vintage. Stylish and sophisticated this coat will make you look like glamorous 50s pin up.

New Look - £29.99
This speckled faux fur jacket is perfect for dressing up a plain outfit on a winter night out. Hurry up and buy it though, this coat is in the sale reduced from £49.99!

The Alexa

Inspired by Alexa Chung's boyish, relaxed style Mulberry reworked the classic man's satchel that Alexa was often spotted with to create this lovely little number.

As much as I would love to own a Mulberry Alexa of my own it will be this Topshop satchel I'll be sporting this year, a slouchier but chic option!

The final Kate Moss for Topshop collection

Despite all the hype and anticipation for the Kate Moss/Topshop collaboration there has never been a collection that I have found particularly desirable, apart from the odd pieces here and there but even they didn't manage to persuade me into buying an item. However there are a few lovely 1920s flapper inspired pieces in the final collection that may just manage to fight their way into my festive wardrobe!
